Peeps make 2 sequential decisions about whether to go on a ride and different things about the ride affect these decisions. Rides compete for peep attention in several ways. But if you have all those rides in 1 corner of the park, then they won't ride the train. Because peeps like to go on several rides of the same general fear rating, and because these rides are far apart, they will be very likely to ride the train between them instead of walking. Like if you have 4 big coasters, put 1 in each corner along with a few flat rides and build a train station near each one. IOW, instead of putting all the kids stuff over here and all the teen stuff over there, you put some of each in all areas of the park.
In my experience, the best way to do this is to spread and evenly mix your various types of rides all over the park.
So there has to be something at Point B to attract the peeps. If it's faster to use the path, they'll walk.īUT, before any of that happens, the peeps have to want to get from Point A to Point B in the first place. If it's faster to take the train, or if no paths lead to Point B at all, the peeps will use the train.
Transport rides aren't regarded as rides in their own right, they are simply an alternative to walking between Point A and Point B. The popularity of transport rides is determined by the design of the rest of the park.
